God’s Standard vs The World’s Standard

Society has conjured a contemporary definition of what God’s desires are for us whether by likening it to wealth, titles, possessions or the equivocal of modern-day success. Standards have been cushioned with clouds of just having or possessing and not “being”.
  • Being His Ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20)
  • Being His Royal Priesthood, Holy Nation and Chosen Generation (1 Peter 2:9)
  • Being His Mouth Pieces here on Earth (Exodus 4:6).
We have neglected analysis of our lifestyles according to God's Word and instead analyze according to what another Christian is doing; partaking in 2 Corinthians 10:12, “but them measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
The standard of the world has become the bread and butter of society, a norm for this generation and an “SOE” on the agenda of our lives.
However, what happened to being clothed in the presence of God through prayer and meditation before ministering?
We have all succumb to being full-time performers with facades and materialistic driven desires. Doing everything out of mere human initiative and independent of the will of God which is not rewarding.
Romans 14:12 reminds you that, “so then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”
  • You cannot blame your worship leader for not telling you that God is a Jealous God, and He does not want you to worship any god/idol beside him (Exodus chapter 20 verse 3).
  • You cannot blame your pastor for not telling you that greed and lust are sinful (Colossians chapter 3 verse 5).
  • We are all given the same opportunity to tap into God’s will, purpose and desires for us through discerning, reading, fasting and praying.
  • His desires supersede “plans to prosper us and not harm us”.
We often liken this prosperity to wealth and properties, but are we really in the position to attain it? Are we aligning ourselves in the position to be judged by His standards and rewarded by His omnipotence?
GOD
WORLD
Did we seek Him first, keep His commandments and deny ourselves daily to truly love Him and others (Luke chapter 9 verse 23)?

Are we standing steadfast to fulfill the Great Commission of making disciples in all nations and be one ourselves (St. Matthew chapter 28 verse 19)?

Are we caring for those who are poor, hungry, orphans, widows, mourning families and friends (St. Matthew chapter 5)?
Or we sit amongst them as introverted doormats being inflicted and not inflicting the words of God? Was coming into communion and oneness with God prioritized above our “New Post” on Instagram or replying to our friends’ tweet?

Or are we shying away because of the persecution or the ridicule that will follow declaring that you are a soldier in the army of God?

Or are our ugly attitudes taking precedence by being another hot girl or top man?

On the day of Judgement, what will be your account on honoring the standards of God be and not conforming to the world’s expectations and scale of human success?
The world’s standard has mustered a “self-highlighting” view, but it is not about us. It is about God’s standard and true image of God found in the Bible concerning Jesus Christ, who is our model (St. John chapter 14 verse 6). His expectation and standard can be your guiding light.

A Savior that served with passion through compassion and love for His Father. He worked diligently out of the will of God and not self acquisition. It is not what your church says, but what the Holy Spirit bids you to.
It is never easy, but God’s grace is sufficient for this journey of living up to His standards even in the 21st century and in a world plagued by double standards and self-driven desires.
Keep on reading as we teach you how to shine like a jewel on God´s Crown
¨ The LORD their God will save his people on that day as a shepherd saves his flock. They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown.¨ Zechariah 9:16 NIV
